Reasons Women Come In the Same Day

You do not need a referral, and you do not need to justify wanting an answer.

  • Bleeding or spotting. Common in early pregnancy and often harmless, but it deserves a real answer rather than a week of waiting.
  • Cramping or pain, especially on one side. A scan confirms the pregnancy is in the uterus and helps rule out an ectopic pregnancy.
  • A positive test you want confirmed. Confirm the pregnancy, see where it is, and get accurate dating.
  • Reassurance after a previous loss. If waiting until week eight feels impossible, you can be seen now, and again next week.
  • Uncertain dates. Irregular cycles, a recent change in birth control, or conflicting tests. A dating scan settles it.
  • Severe nausea and vomiting. The scan checks how many embryos there are and guides treatment. If you need fluids, we can treat you at the same visit.

What a Same-Day Visit Includes

You can come in for the scan alone, or have everything handled in one visit. If all you want is the scan, that is a complete visit too. Tell us what you need when you book.

The Ultrasound

Transvaginal or abdominal, depending on how far along you are, performed on site by an ARDMS-certified sonographer.

A Full Clinical Visit

A clinician takes your history, examines you, and answers the question you actually came in with.

Interpretation and Written Report

Your scan is read at that visit by an OB/GYN, APRN, or maternal-fetal medicine specialist, and your written result is available the same day.

hCG Bloodwork

Run on site when it adds to the picture, which matters most if you are very early and a scan alone cannot answer everything.

Treatment or Prescriptions

If you need them, including IV hydration and pregnancy-safe anti-nausea medication, at the same visit.

Follow-Up Coordination

A repeat scan booked before you leave if one is needed, and your records sent to your OB.

Who Performs and Reads Your Scan

You get the reading at the same visit, from someone who has reviewed your images. Nothing is sent out and read by a stranger a week later.

  • Performed by an ARDMS-certified sonographer
  • Read on site by an OB/GYN, APRN, or maternal-fetal medicine specialist
  • Reviewed with you in plain language, at that visit
  • Written result available the same day
  • Records sent to your OB

From Booking to Answers

What actually happens, from the moment you get in touch to the moment you leave with a plan.

01

Book Online, or Call or Text

The Confirm My Pregnancy pathway shows real appointment times for today and tomorrow. It takes about two minutes. Not sure which visit you need? Call and we will work it out with you rather than making you guess.

02

We Find You a Slot

Tell us what is happening and we will find you the first available appointment, often within hours. We hold same-day slots six days a week.

03

A Clinician Takes Your History

Your dates, your symptoms, and the question you came in with. No rushing, and no being handed off.

04

Bloodwork if It Helps

If hCG levels add to the picture, we run them on site rather than sending you elsewhere.

05

Your Scan, Performed and Read

Your sonographer performs the ultrasound. An OB/GYN, APRN, or maternal-fetal medicine specialist reads the images and reviews them with you at that same visit.

06

You Leave With a Plan

We document the findings, book a repeat scan if one is needed, and send records to your OB.

What a Scan Can Show, and When

Timing changes what an ultrasound can tell you. A gestational sac is usually visible around five weeks, a yolk sac around five to six weeks, and cardiac activity around six weeks. Before about five weeks it is often too early to see anything definitive, which is why we pair very early scans with hCG bloodwork. If you are early, we will tell you honestly what a scan can and cannot answer today.

When to Go to an Emergency Room Instead

Most early pregnancy symptoms can be evaluated safely in our office the same day. For everything short of the signs below, we can usually see you sooner, in a much calmer room.

Go straight to an emergency room if you have very heavy bleeding that soaks through a pad in an hour, severe pain with dizziness or fainting, or pain at the tip of your shoulder. Those need hospital-level evaluation right away.

Insurance and Cost

We are able to work with most commercial insurance plans, and we check your benefits before your appointment, so you know what you will owe before you arrive rather than weeks later. If we are out of your network, we also have self-pay pricing.

We can treat any hyperemesis gravidarum patient regardless of insurance coverage.

Call or text 917-938-7745 and we will check your coverage for you before you book.

If you are not using insurance

Self-pay for a same-day early pregnancy ultrasound visit starts at $495, which covers the scan, clinician interpretation, and your written result. hCG labs, treatment, or IV hydration at the same visit are priced separately and quoted to you first.

HSA and FSA cards are accepted.

No. You can book directly online, or by phone or text. No referral, no previous visit with us, and no minimum number of weeks, though scans before about five weeks may show very little.

If the bleeding is light and you otherwise feel well, a same-day scan in our office can usually answer what is happening. Go to an emergency room for very heavy bleeding, severe pain, dizziness, or fainting.

Yes. Your scan is read at that visit and reviewed with you in plain language, and your written result is available the same day. Records can be sent to your OB.

Before about five weeks a scan often cannot show anything definitive. That does not mean you have to wait alone. We can start with hCG bloodwork, and scan when it will actually tell us something.
