Pregnancy Reassurance

Early pregnancy can be an exciting or uncertain time, depending on your past experiences with pregnancy – or no experience at all. You’re not alone if you’re feeling anxious or worried about the health of your baby. Many women feel under-supported during this time, and reassurance that everything is as it should be can make all the difference in keeping you strong, healthy, and able to navigate this journey. History of Ectopic Pregnancy
An ectopic pregnancy is where the fertilized egg doesn’t implant where it should – commonly in the fallopian tube outside the uterus. Ectopic pregnancies can be severely risky to your health, and if you’ve had one in the past, it’s understandable to be concerned or scared. Early monitoring with bloodwork and ultrasounds can confirm that your pregnancy is implanted and progressing normally. And if not, early testing can help you make decisions about intervening before it impacts your health. Whatever the outcome, our understanding and knowledgeable OB/GYN providers can support you, body and mind.
History of Miscarriage
You might feel especially vulnerable during early pregnancy if you have a history of miscarriage. If you find yourself second-guessing your symptoms or feeling anxious and hyper-aware of them, you’re not alone. Many women with a history of miscarriage go on to have healthy pregnancies, but that doesn’t mean the anxiety goes away. Our OB/GYN providers can offer reassurance with regular monitoring with ultrasound and testing, as well as nutritional support and infusions to help you achieve the best chances of a healthy pregnancy.
First Trimester Spotting
First-trimester spotting is normal, but sometimes it’s not. It can be difficult and worrying to know what’s to be expected and what’s worrying, especially when it has multiple causes such as implantation, hormones, and even irritation of the cervix. It’s always best to reach out to an OB/GYN provider if you’re worried about spotting – we can perform testing and an ultrasound to check the health of your pregnancy and reassure you throughout your very important early pregnancy journey.
